Spotted: L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows Back in Singapore!
Here's what I totally did not expect to stumble upon while doing my biweekly Watsons (aka the local drugstore in Singapore) visit to replenish my bathroom cabinet.

The L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows are back in town! Yeah!!
They retail at SG$14.90. I was really tempted to buy them initially but I decided otherwise as I really do need to streamline my makeup. That said, I did a bit of swatching on my arms and was definitely impressed by the intensity and staying power of the eyeshadows.
Have you tried these products? Happy Mid-Week! :)

Swatches: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil
Ever since I've jumped on the cream eyeshadow/base bandwagon, I've been searching for a cheaper alternatives that might be MAC paintpot alike. It always doesn't hurt to save my pocket from burning a big hole. Nevertheless, I'm still itching to add Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre into my makeup collection. The cheaper alternative that I feel has comparable quality so far is none other than NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.
The colors that instantly caught my eye was Iced Mocha, Milk and Yoghurt. The eye pencil's consistency is creamy and they really make perfect eye bases especially for Milk when I'm trying to pull a colorful eye makeup. Iced Mocha and Yoghurt are both colors that can be worn by itself. Remember I was sharing about how MAC's Bare Study paintpot is able to brighten up my eye lids? Well, Yoghurt does the exact same thing, albeit at a much cheaper price tag. Furthermore, the pigmentation of this product is surprisingly good, something that I did not expect from a low-end brand.

I guess the only thing that I didn't enjoy about this product is the lasting power and the fact that it creases. However, with really light colors such as Yoghurt (my most used champagne base), the creasing effect doesn't really show up that much. If you are looking for the more economical option, definitely take a look at NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.
Happy Weekend!

Before I jump into sharing my next 'I love Empties' post, I thought I would do a quick swatch post on one of my current obsessions - MAC Paint Pots.

Swatches: Sleek Original Palette
I've owned this palette for quite some time now. Since I have not been wearing any eye makeup this year, it kinda held me back in swatching/reviewing this palette. I know many might say that it is totally fine to just swatch them but I always felt that if I have not tried the product at least once then I can't really give an accurate accoun of the palette.
So pardon me for that, this post will only be focusing on the swatches and my first impressions of the palette.
As with the name of the brand, this packaging of the palette is a really "sleek" black casing. However, the downside of this (like MAC's palette) is that it gets stains really easily. Being slightly OCD, sometimes it drives me nuts to see stains on all my black casing products.
First impressions:
Albeit the fallout (which can be solve by applying a good base/primer on the eyes), the colors are really pigmented with soft and smooth texture. I like how all colors (except the black) are with shimmery finish. Totally can imagine myself wearing them out for party at night. I bought this from the Superdrug at Oxford Street, London at £6.49 and I think it is really a money well spent product.
I was checking out sleek makeup's website and found out that they came out with new line of pout paint (dupe of OCC lip tar?). Seems like a pretty interesting product and it's on my next shopping list. =)
What are your favorites from Sleek?

Swatches: Maybelline Stylish Smokes in Emerald Smokes
As u may probably noticed, I've been blogging rather regularly/daily lately. I'm trying to get as many posts up as soon as possible since I already foresee that my schedule for the upcoming weeks is going to be extremely hectic/hellish.

Swatches: Maybelline Stylish Smokes in Amethyst Smokes
I wanted to do swatches post on the Sleek Sparkle palette first instead of this. However sadly, I accidentally deleted all the pictures I took for the Sleek palette. But again, I guess the swatches for this quad will be far more useful since the Sleek Sparkle palette is a holiday limited edition and can be quite hard to get now.

Swatches: Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box
Finally, here's the swatches of the Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box (what a mouthful!) which I recently purchased from Sephora. I was contemplating whether to do this post with my current device since I know for sure it won't do justice to the actual color and pigmentation of the product.

Swatches: YSL Ombres Quadrilumieres
Yves Saint Laurent have always been a brand that I adore not only due its amazing designs in their couture but also their amazingly sleek, gorgeous and attention to detail packaging that they have for their makeup line. I've been very hesitant to show the swatches for this palette since they are not available on the web site anymore. The new palette available is a rocker chic type of quad which u can find it here.

Swatches: ELF Brightening Eye Color
After much procrastination, I decided that it's time for me to do some serious swatches of the ELF Brightening Eye Color which I've hauled. A short recap of ELF if you have yet to try anything from their site. All professional line are $1 while the studio line (which is of better quality, I presume) are $3. I got slightly order happy, and bought a total of 7 quads all together. So, here are the swatches:

Top Row (Left to Right): Drama, Silver Lining
Middle Row (Left to Right): Hazy Hazel, Luxe
Last Row: (Left to Right): Brownstone, Ethereal, Butternut

Drama

Swatch of Drama. This is one of my absolute favorites. It's great for smoky eyes.
The quad has 3 glittery colors and one matte white.

Silver Lining

Swatch of Silver lining. All the colors are slightly glittery.
Beware of the black though, it's really pigmented and tend to have a lot of fall outs.
Hazy Hazel
Swatch of Hazy Hazel. I adore the purple and the lighter brown.
Luxe
Swatch of Luxe
Brownstone
Swatch of Brownstone. Great matte neutrals.
Ethereal
Swatch of Ethereal. This is another of my favorite.
It has 4 great everyday colors (Slightly glittery). Great for lectures.
But i do noticed that this us not as pigmented compared to the rest.
Butternut
Swatch of Butternut
Let me know if you want more details or to see any looks from the quads.
p/s: Apologies for the photo quality as I've taken them using my phone.

Swatches: Why I Love ELF Products
Hi guys, I will be blogging about some parcels which I've recently received in the mail soon. But I reckon before doing so, I would feature some swatches of the products that I've been using and loving lately from my last haul.
All of the products mentioned in this post are from ELF which stands for eyes lips face, they are retailed at US$1.00 for professional line and US$3.00 for their studio line products. All of the products which I've bought from my initial order are from the professional line as I wanted to try out the brand first before taking a plunge in getting the pricier items. Unfortunately, at this point in time, all products can only be purchased from their US website at eyeslipsface.com. In order to get the products, I bought it through one of the sellers in lowyat.net who specialises in providing ordering service for US/UK retailers.
Top Picture: ELF custom compact (one side of it fits the shadow and the other side is a huge mirror)
From top left corner (clockwise): Sage, Golden Glow, Ivory, Dusk
From left: Sage, Golden Glow, Dusk, Ivory
From top (first row):Elf Tinted Moisturizer(rosy beige & honey)
Second row: Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (sun kissed & luminance)
Third row: Luscious Liquid Lipstick (ruby slipper)
Btm row: Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 (Goddess)
From left: Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (sun kissed),
Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (luminance),
Elf Tinted Moisturizer(rosy beige),
Elf Tinted Moisturizer(honey),
Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 (Goddess),
Luscious Liquid Lipstick (ruby slipper)
I've been mostly wearing the shadows from the ELF quad lately which I've pulled together by purchasing the compact and four eyeshadows. The colors are very pigmented and relatively easy to apply, if you are to compare them with the nameless brands in Malaysia. I particularly liked Golden Glow as an all over lid color and would sometime use Dusk as a highlight for my cheeks as well. However, the down side is that u might quite a bit of fall out from the shadows. So it is advisable to not pick up as much product on your brush.
Other products such as the Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder and Luscious Liquid Lipstick are also my favorites as both are true to color and easy to apply. I like how the bronzing powder gives out a soft glow to my face and is really perfect for the all year tropical climate that I'm in. The Luscious Liquid Lipstick has a nice minty scent to it and I simply love how it feels on my lips.
