Swatches: Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box

Finally, here's the swatches of the Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box (what a mouthful!) which I recently purchased from Sephora. I was contemplating whether to do this post with my current device since I know for sure it won't do justice to the actual color and pigmentation of the product.

But while I was browsing through Sephora the other day, I saw that they have further reduced the price of this palette from $20 to $16 (Sadly I bought it at $20) and I immediately knew that I MUST do this post just to let those who have been eyeing for this palette a heads up of the product.

This is my first Urban Decay palette and I must say that I am impressed with the quality of the eyeshadow. I find that all of the shadows in this palette are very pigmented and easy to work with. The best part? They are Pretty!!!

The shadows which u get in this Show Pony box are (from left to right) Snatch, Mildew, Flash on the first row and Painkiller, Smog, Toasted on the second row. This palette also comes with a 24/7 glide on eye pencil (0.8g) in zero and a mini primer potion (3.7ml).

With Flash (Top Row L to R: Snatch, Mildew, Flash; Bottom Row L to R: Painkiller, Smog, Toasted)

Without Flash (Top Row L to R: Snatch, Mildew, Flash; Bottom Row L to R: Painkiller, Smog, Toasted)

I bought this palette not only because I wanted to try Urban Decay's product but also cos I wanted to add more vibrant colors into my collection. If you have been following this blog, u would already noe that I only wear neutral colors out since in Malaysia people generally will think that u are nuts and can't stop staring at you if you wear bright colors out. Bright colors are only reserved for events when u noe that u will eventually get drunk and nobody will care how ur eye make up looks like. I think this palette is great for creating neutral day look as well as glammed up night look which makes it very convenient to bring when traveling.

I love this palette and really got nothing much to complain about it. However, I must warn u that the color Snatch (glittery pink on far left) has very chunky glitters and they tend to fall everywhere on the face. Another little downside I realized while bringing this palette to travel few weeks ago was that there's no decent highlight color in it (Unbelievable!!!). However since I brought my ELF quad in brownstone out (The dark brown is my current fav brow color), I used the highlight color in it as my highlight color all the time. Beats me why the geniuses at Urban Decay forgot about adding a highlight color.

So far, the color I used up the most is toasted and smog, I absolutely love them! And the most pigmented colors in this palette are Painkiller, Smog and Toasted.

Overall Rating: 4.0/5

My Recommendation:
If you are interested in palettes which have some bold colors in it,  the Show Pony Shadow Box is perfect! U can get it at Sephora now for $16.

P/S: After trying this palette, I am now affirmative that I need to get the Naked Palette.

  5. amazing swatches and I don't have this palette yet. You're so lucky to have gotten it for only $16.

The thing I don't like about UD is that they always put repeat colors in their palettes other than that the pigmentation and quality is great.

  7. Ena- Haha..it's always funny how ppl stare when I wear bright colors out. No pro with the swatches..

    Oreleona- Thank you!

Irene- No pro babe! I just did swatch on the shadows u sent me! Thanks a mill cos i'm in love with them now.

Mara- I got it at $20. LOL...but good thing is that now it's only $16. I gotta agree about the color repetition in their palette. I think toasted and snatch in this palette can be found in the naked palette. But still they are those shadows that I would use all the time so I guess it will still be okay... =)

Everydaymakeupblog- This is my first one and I must say that I really enjoyed using them..

Dizzy- I always read on ur blog about UD products. U were my inspiration in getting them..
