Review & Swatches: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation has been my foundation of choice over the past quarter. Known as a dupe of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, this foundation claims to gives the skin a radiance boost with its vitamin rich fruit therapy formula, providing an even, revived complexion.

On Bourjois's official website, the foundation comes in 6 shades of light to dark. The shade that I picked up was 52 Vanille, the second lightest shade available. One thing to note is that I do find that the shades offered have more neutral undertone as compared to brands like MAC which offers wider range of undertones.

The consistency of the foundation is very thin and easy to work with on application to the skin. I prefer using my fingers to work with the foundation and typically just uses one full pump to create the "my skin but better" sort of look for my daily makeup routine. Coverage wise, I would say that it offers light coverage but is build-able to a medium coverage.

One thing that really made me fell in love with the foundation is how lightweight the foundation felt on my skin and throughout a long day of work, I always felt that my skin was able to breath through the foundation. I also love the natural, dewy finish that the foundation gives, seemingly close to the Korean actresses impeccable dewy skin that I'm currently pretty obsessed with (p/s: shoutout to My Love from the Star's Cheon Song-Yi). I felt that as compared to the other lightweight foundation, the lasting power of this foundation is also pretty decent - it lasted me for about 5 - 6 hours on an average work day.

Overall, this is definitely a foundation to look out for if you are into the lightweight, dewy, natural type of makeup look. I'd also recommend this over the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua due to the affordable price point.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation can be found at Robinsons Singapore at retail price of S$34.90.

  1. Wow, thank you for this review! I have been very curious about it. It seems that Vanilla is my shade, too. :-)
