Review: Coastal Scents Precision Detail Brush

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of updates on this blog. As per usual, I have been rather caught up with the ongoing events in life. Well, fingers crossing that everything will be better soon..

Anyway onto the review which I wanna share today! If some of u might remember, I've recently hauled 2 brushes from Smoochiez and one of them is the Coastal Scents C431 Precision Brush, our topic of interest today.

This brush retails for US$3.95 on the Coastal Scents website. It is made of goat hair cut and tapered into a small round point. The Coastal Scents site claims that this works well across the crease line and for adding color detail. Both which I do agree IF the bristles were softer, less scratchy.

Here's a summary of what I dislike and like about this brush,

What I dislike
-The brush is really SCRATCHY!!!!
-Irritates my lower lash line
-Bristles are way too STIFF
-Hard to work with
-Does not apply colors well

What I like
-The price

I must say that I am pretty disappointed with this brush. I had rather high expectation after reading the reviews on the website but I guess this is just the instance where the brush really doesn't work for me AT ALL.

My Recommendation:
I wouldn't recommend anyone in purchasing this precision brush.

Overall Rating: 1.5/5.0

P/S: The brush is just sitting idle in my brush holder now. If you have any methods on making bristles softer, do share with me. =)

XOXO

  1. Yeah I'm not a big fan of Coastal Scents brushes. I received one of their brush sets for Christmas and the set came missing a brush. The one thing I really hate about them is that they shed ALL the TIME. It's annoying plus they aren't soft. The only really soft one I have is the blush brush. That's about it.

  2. I sometimes use conditioner on natural hair brushes to make them softer- just regular hair conditioner will do :) xxx
