Hello my lovelies, I'm back with yet another review! Been wanting to do this review for the longest time but I was too lazy and occupied with my life. =)
Anyway here's what I think about the Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Emulsion from The Face Shop. Just a fast background, The Face Shop is a popular Korean cosmetic & skincare store widely available in most asian countries and being in Malaysia we are lucky enough to be able to get them easily.
"Formulated with traditional rice water once used by women of the Korean Royal Court as well as botanical Moringa Oil, this gentle cleansing emulsion thoroughly removes makeup and leaves skin refreshed"
This is on the back of the packaging..impressive right? Royal Court! LOL....btw rice water is also the ingredient for the popular SKII product.
This is actually my 3rd bottle of make up remover from The Face Shop before I ditched it for Biore's make up remover. Reason being that I'm lazy when it comes to removing my daily makeup and Biore's make up remover simply does the job faster. XD

Anyway I love the smell of this make up remover. It reminds me of baby lotion. I also did not experience any allergies/irritation from it. This makeup remover works perfectly on days when I don't have much make up on (tht being simple eyeliner, foundation and mascara). Usually I take one pump of it and massage all over my face till my makeup is completely dissolved. Then I would use some cotton to wipe off everything from my face and rinse it off with water before continuing to wash my face with my cleanser.
Here's a little experiment to give u a better idea how well it works..
Test Subjects #1: Liquid & Pencil Eyeliners
Test Subjects #2: Mascaras

All the test subjects are non-waterproof, I have tried removing waterproof make up but it did not turn out that well. Also, I do not recommend this if you have really heavy make up on cos u would have to go through the massaging step again and again which is pretty time consuming (well at least to me it is)!
From the smell to its performance, I really have nothing to complain about. Sad part is that u can't use it for heavier make up and the packaging kinda sucks too cos it doesn't have a pump protector. This means u won't be able to bring it for travel without transferring into smaller bottles (another reason I switched to Biore which have a pump protector so u can bring the whole bottle out).
Another plus factor of this product is that the brightening effect which it claims really works! But that was only when I finish one whole tube and was using the second tube.
If you're on the hunt for a light makeup remover, u really should try this. It retails at around RM 35.90 (don't quote me cos I can't remember the exact price) at The Face Shop.
Hope this is helpful! Happy Thursday!
XOXO
