Current Addiction #6: For the Love of the Skin
It's rather rare that this volume of current addiction includes many products that I've recently bought. But since I am absolutely in love with them, I just couldn't wait to share here with you guys.
Current Favorite Foundation Routine
Mac Fix +
Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (2W1, Sand)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC 30)
MAC Bite Of An Apple
I was having some reserves on the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation before this primarily because it was too dry for my combination skin. In terms of the coverage and lasting power, I definitely have no complains. I was using my ELF Powder Brush to stipple it onto my face but because the foundation was so dry, it looked kinda cakey on me, and I just did not like it. But after incorporating Fix + into my skin priming routine, the dryness issue has been completely solved! =) I think the foundation brush has also been one of the key point of my current routine, dramatically reducing the cakey-ness and any chance of over applying this foundation.
To finish up with my face routine, I would usually apply Bite of An Apple. I adore this color but too bad that this is a limited edition color. I'm contemplating on getting NARS Exhibit A since they kinda remind me of each other. What do u think?
Aside from those products, I am also loving the NarukoTaiwan Magnolia Brightening & Firming Night Gelly. I've been using this every night since the day I discovered it. I love it simply because at a price tag of SG$ 21.90, this stuff really does brighten my skin as it claims. As for the anti-aging purpose, I haven't seen the result so far, but will definitely let you guys know soon. As for now, I am actually planning to purchase more of naruko's product from this website.
One last addiction at the moment is My Beauty Diary masks. Somehow, my skin has been behaving well recently without much break outs. And remember I mentioned that I was sensitive to their masks? Seems like this problem is resolved as of now. =) YAY!!!! I love their Black Pearl Mask and my current favorite is this limited edition Strawberry Milk Mask. It's sooooooooooo refreshing and I love how it brightens my skin right after using it.
What is your current addiction?

Review: Bebe Poshe Perfect Concealer
Thought I would share a review of a new concealer I recently purchased. The brand is called Bebe Poshe and it originated from Taiwan. Bebe Poshe has a rather interesting background as it was founded/inspired by four very famous and lovely Taiwan socialites. And for all who are not aware, Taiwan socialites are pretty well known for their perfect skin, makeup and sense of fashion.
Intrigued by their rather famous founders, I kinda rush out and went all the way to the nearest drugstore that carried this brand after reading about it on one of the local blogger's blog. The store I visited was the Watsons at Forum Galleria (way out of the way for me considering I went there on national day and the store was closing and I gave the store assistant my 'puppy eye/desperate' look to be allowed in). However, I was pretty disappointed when I saw the products, how it was displayed, the price and the range available, just did not appeal much to me. Well, except for this concealer I bought of cos.
I think they did a good job on the packaging. The packaging is rather girly and pink and really gave out the 'Socialite/名媛' type of vibe but the real thing that really caught my attention and brought me to purchase it was that this concealer came in two shades well maybe partly was becos I was too shy to walk out empty handed, perfect for spots and under eye concealing.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the product though. The texture of the concealer is creamy and easy to work/blend with. It wasn't cakey and was able to cover up my spots well without looking unnatural. The product also came with a brush but I'm not too intrigued by it as I usually prefer a fluffier brush or my finger to do the job.

L to R: Bebe Poshe (Darker shade), Bebe Poshe (Lighter Shade), MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC30) |
However the downside is this concealer is only suitable to certain skin color ppl as it only comes in one type/shade. To give you a better idea of the color, I decided to swatch it along with my MAC studio finish concealer in NC30. My MAC concealer tends to be more on the yellow side while Bebe Poshe is more on the pink/neutral side.
Quality wise, I think this has a comparable texture to the MAC studio finish. Again, both color is very creamy and very easy to blend/work with. But another downside I must mention is that I find this product not as long lasting as the MAC concealer.
The retail price of the product is at SG$24.90. Going back to the point that I find the whole range to be expensive is because a normal MAC concealer cost SG$30 with 7g of product while this concealer only came with 3.5g of product.

As for whether I would recommend the product, I think if you have a rather extensive range of concealers, you probably can pass for this. However, if you are a beginner and you love Asian make up, this would be a brand worth checking out.

Swatches: Sleek Original Palette
I've owned this palette for quite some time now. Since I have not been wearing any eye makeup this year, it kinda held me back in swatching/reviewing this palette. I know many might say that it is totally fine to just swatch them but I always felt that if I have not tried the product at least once then I can't really give an accurate accoun of the palette.
So pardon me for that, this post will only be focusing on the swatches and my first impressions of the palette.
As with the name of the brand, this packaging of the palette is a really "sleek" black casing. However, the downside of this (like MAC's palette) is that it gets stains really easily. Being slightly OCD, sometimes it drives me nuts to see stains on all my black casing products.
First impressions:
Albeit the fallout (which can be solve by applying a good base/primer on the eyes), the colors are really pigmented with soft and smooth texture. I like how all colors (except the black) are with shimmery finish. Totally can imagine myself wearing them out for party at night. I bought this from the Superdrug at Oxford Street, London at £6.49 and I think it is really a money well spent product.
I was checking out sleek makeup's website and found out that they came out with new line of pout paint (dupe of OCC lip tar?). Seems like a pretty interesting product and it's on my next shopping list. =)
What are your favorites from Sleek?

NOTW: China Glaze Victorian
First nail of the week of the month of August. I originally wanted something dark but thought it might be not that suitable for work.
What's on your nails this week?
